Thousands of Syrian refugees to shift from federal to provincial assistance

It has been thirteen months since the first plane with Syrian refugees landed at Pearson Airport in Toronto, to be greeted in person by Prime Minister Trudeau. As of November 27, 2016, a total of 35,745 Syrian refugees arrived in Canada, of which 18,863 were government-assisted refugees, 13,260 were privately sponsored refugees and 3,622 were blended visa office-referred refugees.

Canada votes against six anti-Israel resolutions at the UN
