York Entrepreneurship Development Institute launches Business Acceleration Campus in Toronto
The York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) has recently launched its Business Acceleration Campus located at 907 Alness Street in Toronto. With over 100 start-ups and not-for-profit organizations attracting over $10 million in funding over the last two years, this new 80,000 sq ft. facility is equipped with commercial, industrial, office, educational, TV studio and theatrical spaces to serve a diverse mix of industries and needs.
The Acceleration Campus aims to provide a solid co-working and educational ground for ventures requiring resources past the initial incubation phase. It gives participants access to subject matter experts and broad investor base, provides one-on-one goal setting and on-going educational sessions.
YEDI’s Incubator Track takes place at the Executive Education Centre at the Schulich School of Business and its graduates are among the first clients of the newly opened acceleration campus.
Upon acceptance into the program, one year goals are set and reviewed with program advisors on an on-going basis to ensure all participants are continuously taking their organizations to the next level.
YEDI strongly believes in ventures retaining full ownership and does not take equity in exchange for participation. Instead, accepted ventures can choose from several space options at market value price points.
YEDI is a sector-agnostic organization and is currently accepting applications from both for-profit and not-for-profit ventures that are in their growth stage at the moment. Interested applicants may submit an application via www.yedinstitute.org/accelerator; all applications are reviewed on a rolling-basis and acceptance is dependent on venture’s fit and space availability.
