Major obstacle for Islamophobia motion: Government cannot define “TRUE Islam”

On February 16, 2017 the House of Commons will vote on motion M-103 “Systemic racism and religious discrimination” that was tabled by Liberal MP Iqra Khalid (Mississauga–Erin Mills).

The motion condemns “Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination”, but fails to define the meaning of “Islam” and “Islamophobia.”

Trudeau Liberal government provided its own understanding about Islam.

Trudeau insists: Islam is compatible with Western secular democracy like Canada

In two separate interviews to CBC during recent months, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that Islam is compatible with Western open and secular democracy:

(November 24, 2015): “Canadians are quick to point out that ISIS is wrong, that Islam is not incompatible with the Western secular democracy, a free place like Canada.”

(January 31, 2016): “But on the other hand, we need to make sure that we’re working with communities like the Muslim community for example to demonstrate that Islam is not incompatible with free and open Western societies.”

In an interview with Maclean’s (December 16, 2015), Trudeau said, “[I’m] talking directly about the Muslim community. They [Muslims] are predominantly the greatest victims of terrorist acts around the world at the present time. And painting ISIS and others with a broad brush that extends to all Muslims is not just ignorant, it is irresponsible.”

A year earlier Trudeau said to a Surrey (BC) Muslim magazine that his lesson from the 9/11 terrorist attacks is that “any time such an incident does occur there has to be strong message needed to be sent to separate the muslims from the terrorist…”

Canada’s Foreign Minster: “Islam is a religion of peace”

Stéphane Dion, then Minister of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement (July 3, 2016) in which he drew a clear distinction between ISIS which “demonstrates its complete disregard for human life” and Islam which is “a religion of peace that fosters the respect and promotion of human life.”

Canada defines groups/ states that DO NOT represent TRUE Islam

Speaking at Syrian envoys’ retreat in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec on November 13, 2016, then Foreign Minister Stéphane Dion said among other things the following:

Daesh [aka Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL], al Qaeda, al Nusra, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups. These are movements that profess a bloody and distorted version of Islam that is destroying countless lives, particularly in the Muslim community…

Next in the crucible of the region we have the spectre of the Assad regime, which long ago lost the moral legitimacy to govern but is supported by powerful forces, namely Russia and Iran. The actions in Aleppo [Syria] of this regime and its backers—which also include Hezbollah and Afghan Shia militias—and the ongoing bombings and the absence of a ceasefire have made peace negotiations impossible since April.”

The “other terrorist groups” that DO NOT represent Islam are mentioned in the Canadian terrorist blacklist that includes the following entities:

The Public Safety’s list of terrorist entities includes:

  • Islamic State (a.k.a. IS, ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, Caliphate)

The Muslim world sides with Canada-designated terrorist entities

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, the two major international organizations representing the majority of Muslims worldwide (57 states and 22 states respectively) openly support the struggle by all means against Israel from any front.

Both organizations stated that these actions, which are carried out by Arab, Islamic, Lebanese and Palestinian terrorist organizations and are deemed by Canada as terrorism, are not terrorism, but “legitimate resistance.”

Nabil Elaraby, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, emphasized that al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas military/ terrorist wing, which is included in the Canadian terror list, is not a terrorist organization. Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the global movement of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Canada implies that most Muslims DO NOT represent TRUE Islam

Canada’s position on Islam as presented above suggests that:

  • Islam is a religion of peace
  • Islam in compatible with the Western secular democracy
  • Islamic terrorist groups DO NOT represent TRUE Islam
  • Shiite Islam lead by Iran (and Hizbullah) DOES NOT represent TRUE Islam
  • The major Sunni organizations worldwide that engage in terrorism or support terrorist groups DO NOT represent TRUE Islam, including the international organizations that speak on behalf of the Arab and Muslim states.

The Liberal government has not yet revealed which of the Islamic organizations/ entities/ states represents the “TRUE Islam”.

Who represent TRUE Islam in Canada?

ICNA Canada, the biggest national-wide organization in Canada, lead by Canada’s top Imam, Dr. Iqbal Nadvi, posted on its official website a book that presents a modern interpretation of Islam based on the hadith (narrations attributed to Mohammad). The following are excerpts from the book:

ICNA Canada’s online syllabus on jihad

Polytheists and infidels should be invited to Islam, and if they reject the invitation, then Jihad be made against them… The objective of Jihad. This objective warrants that one must struggle against Kufr (disbelief) and Shirk (polytheism) and the worship of falsehood in all its forms. Jihad has to continue until this objective is achieved… it is incumbent on the Mulsims to wage Jihad against them to wipe out Kufr and Shirk and raise the banner of Tauhid everywhere… so long as Kufr [disbelief] is present in this world, it is necessary to wage Jihad against it to finish it off, and so long as all the disbelievers do not openly accept Islam and adopt the Islamic way of life, Muslims are duty- bound to make Jihad against them.”

ICNA Canada’s online syllabus on democracy

The political system of Islam is totally incompatible with western democracy. The concept of government party and the opposition is alien to Islam. All belong to one Ummah with only one goal and pursue the same aims and objects of Islamic guidelines!

TURE Islam as introduced to Canadians by Islamic groups

Muslim Dawah (outreach, “call to Islam”) activists at in Toronto and in other cities across Canada have been distributing during recent years a variety of Islamic literature.

The following are the highlights of some of the Islamic books/booklets which were obtained by CIJnews:

  • Polygamy is permitted in certain conditions

  • Wife must obey the “commands” of her husband

  • Wife beating is permissible in certain conditions (“Submissive or subdued women… may even enjoy being beaten”)

  • Muslims have a duty to spread the message of Islam in society

  • Prayers to Allah to give Muslims victory over the disbelievers
  • Non-Muslims of an Islamic State have to pay the jizya (poll-tax) tax
  • Punishment of flogging for public intoxication and traffickers

  • Punishment of stoning to death for married adulterers

  • Punishment of execution for apostates
