Indigo is hosting an Instagram contest

Indigo is inviting Canadians to join their #AlwaysBeReading movement and visit its bookstore to find their “next great read.”

The company is working with Yasin Osman, an award-winning Toronto-based photographer and early childhood educator. As part of the #AlwaysBeReading campaign, Yasin is visiting local Indigo stores to capture candid images of real Canadians reading, and share their stories about why and what they choose to read. By sharing these images on social media, Indigo hopes to encourage other Canadians to share their stories and personal connection to reading.

To celebrate the launch of the #ExperienceIndigo and #AlwaysBeReading campaign, Indigo is hosting an Instagram contest now through March 31, 2017.

Fans are asked to share a photo of their most recent store visit on Instagram using the hashtags #ExperienceIndigo and #Contest, plus follow and tag @chaptersindigo. Fans can enter biweekly for a chance to win 1 of 4 $100 Indigo gift cards. For full contest details click HERE.

  1. “And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.” Leviticus 20:23

Among the things God abhorred was the practice of cutting–

“They shall not … make any cuttings in their flesh.” Leviticus 21:5

“Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves.” Deuteronomy 14:1

There were a few reasons given in the Bible why heathens cut themselves, such as to memorialize a dead loved one or friend (Leviticus 19:28) as part of ancestor worship. But there were two more sinister reasons also mentioned. One of them has to do with the worship of Baal as displayed when Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to a contest–

“And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. …And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.” 1 Kings 18:26, 28
