Shlomo Artzi is one of the top Israeli singers. His career spans over 30 years, with countless hit singles, which have had Israeli audiences swooning for decades.

Shlomo Artzi (born in 1949) began his career in the military in 1970. His first years as a musical artist didn’t bring him the immense success that would follow. But in 1977, after having nearly given up on a musical career, the album “Man Loses Himself” came out, and marked Artzi as one of the “it” singers of the eighties and nineties. Following were several songs that many Israelis can recite till this day.

A son of Holocaust survivors, Artzi as not shied away from the topic, and has incorporated the struggles and memories he had growing up with troubled parents in his work. His son, Ben Artzi – also featured in one of his songs as a little boy – became a successful musician in the 2000s.
