Trudeau reacts to Russia suicide attack by sending “thoughts” to victims’ families

14 were murdered and 49 injured in a suicide bombing attack that took place on Monday, April 3, 2017, in a train in the centre of St Petersburg, Russia.

A second device disguised to look like a fire extinguisher was later discovered at another station and safely diffused. Russian officials said they believe the suicide bomber had links to radical Islam.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted a short statement sympathizing with the Russian people and the victims’ families:

Sophie & I send our thoughts to the people of St Petersburg and Russia, and to the victims’ families. May the injured make a quick recovery.

Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted a short statement expressing its sadness and offering condolences:

Canada is saddened by deaths and injuries after explosions in #StPetersburg metro. Condolences to victims’ families and friends

Trudeau government maintains that the Islamic State (aka ISIS, Daesh, Caliphate) and other Islamic terrorist groups has nothing to do with Islam and that Muslims are the greatest victims of their actions.

In an interview (November 12, 2014) to the Islamic Alameen Post magazine, based in Surrey, BC Trudeau was quoted as saying the following:

In reference to the Ottawa shooting and statements given by the other two political leaders, especially when it comes to Canadian Muslims, he feels that they could have done a better job. He [Trudeau] feels that in light of the 9/11 incidents and lessons learned from it, that any time such an incident does occur there has to be strong message needed to be sent to separate the muslims from the terrorist
