UJA will be entering its 11th year of the Shinshinim Program – a program which brings 25 Shinshinim to Toronto for a year, working with our community in order to increase the connection, knowledge of, and commitment to Israel.

Reporting to the Shinshinim Program Director, the Coordinator will be responsible for the logistics, coordination and organization of the program, with an emphasis on supporting the Shinshinim with both personal and professional challenges. UJA’s Israel Engagement Department has embarked on several new initiatives and a creative and innovative professional is required to help with implementation, expansion and evaluation. Particular emphasis will be placed on the following:

• STEM Twinning Initiative – leverages UJA investments in Israel around STEM- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and creates an interactive twinning between organizations and professionals in Israel and Toronto that work with students in K-12. Together they embark on shared learning, professional development, robotics and science-centered challenges.

• Project Encounter – wherein the ShinShinim (24 Israeli emissaries – post high school, pre-army) engage, for the first time, in a non-Jewish school, participating in workshops along with high school counterparts. The series emphasizes the Israeli perspective and experience through guided workshops on current global issues of importance.

Duties:

The professional responsible for STEM Twinning Initiative, Project Encounter and South of St. Clair, initiatives, will be required to: facilitate/educate, coordinate logistics, implement, evaluate programming, foster and deepen existing relationships and onboard new partners; will take a lead in working on delegations that come from Israel to Toronto focusing on logistics, mentorship and education; as an integral team member of the Israel Engagement department will work on projects as they arise.

English Language Learner Teacher – Short Term LTO (Full Time)

The English as a Second Language / English Language Learner Teacher at Netivot HaTorah provides instruction to students in the ESL / ELL Program. The specialist will be a member of the Podolski NESS Educational Support team. Purpose of the Job:

The principal role of the PR and Communications Associate is to cultivate, develop and maintain a strong understanding of Chai Lifeline Canada utilizing all forms of media and communications. This vital role will work closely with our Development Office to help build and improve Chai Lifeline Canada’s donor relationships.

Ultimately, the role of the PR/Communications Associate is to support the work of management, staff and volunteers while taking initiative to ensure the overall success of Chai Lifeline Canada in our quest for fight pediatric illness with Hope and Love.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide and support our holistic services to clients. This includes, but is not limited to:

o Collateral development and production

o Content development specialist

o Email programs

o E-newsletters

o Graphic artists

o Market research

o Marketing software

o Metrics/data analysts

o Mobile marketing specialists

o PPC

o Printing

o PR specialist

o SEO/keyword research

o Social media specialists

o Special events

o Sponsorship

o Website development/re-engineering

o Various other tasks, as the needs arise

Evaluation and Supervision:

Before commencing, the selected candidate will participate in a mandatory orientation with the Director of Development and Toronto Director. It is during this time where;

• Expectations and Objectives will be made clear.

Ba-Li Laffa South is seeking both full and part-time reliable, outgoing, and energetic staff for the following positions:

• line/short-order cook(s);

• front counter employee(s);

• wait staff.

The successful candidates must:

• be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, work environment;

• be flexible and a team player;

• work with Head Chef and assist, (from time-to-time), as instructed;

• learn the art of making Laffa sandwiches;

• learn restaurant management software program/payment system;

• work from time-to-time, on special event evenings, including, but not limited to, December 24th/25th, Boaxing Day, New Years Eve, etc.;

• complete any other duties as required, or assigned, (from time-to-time), by restaurant owners/Chef/COR.

Added bonus (preferred, but not required):

• Driver’s licence to drive company van or make deliveries using own vehicle (compensation for use of own vehicle provided).

• Shomer Shabbat.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 10:00 – 10:30 p.m., Friday 10:00 – 3:00 p.m., (Spring-Summer-Fall), and Sunday – 10:00 – 10:30 p.m. Closed on all major Jewish Holy Days.
