CFL Player spreads antisemitism on Twitter: CIJA

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), the advocacy agent of the Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA, accuses Khalif Mitchell, who was just added to the Saskatchewan Roughrider’s practice roster, of yet again “spreading antisemitism” on his personal Twitter account.

In 2015, Mitchell was fined by the CFL and Montreal Alouettes for re-tweeting a holocaust denial video on his Twitter account, and was dropped by the team shortly thereafter.

“We are deeply troubled that Mitchell is continuing to spread messages of hate against the Jewish people. The Montreal Alouettes and the Canadian Football League did the right thing in 2015 by denouncing Mitchell’s hateful tweets and levying a fine against him for his troubling behaviour,” Shimon Koffler Fogel, CEO of CIJA said in an official statement. “Clearly, Mitchell has not learned from his past mistakes. We have engaged with the CFL and the Saskatchewan Roughriders and they have assured us they are investigating.”
