Petition calls for reinstatement of suspended Toronto teacher who supports Palestinian struggle

A petition circulated by Teachers for Palestine calls on the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board to immediately reinstate Nadia Shoufani, a Lebanese-born activist and elementary school teacher at St. Catherine of Siena school in Mississauga, Ontario who was suspended with pay following a speech she made at the notorious Iran-backed al-Quds rally in Toronto on July 2, 2016.

School Board suspends Toronto teacher who called killer of Israeli girl a “hero”

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board announced on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, that it has suspended Nadia Shoufani, an elementary teacher based at St. Catherine of Sienna. The Board noted that “concerns raised by the community and public at large regarding Nadia’s professional conduct, have been referred to the Ontario College of Teachers for investigation and review.”
